Understand the SDK calls and MCP messages that make up a Codex integration.
The TypeScript SDK accepts a string or structured input in thread.run() and returns a turn result. runStreamed() returns an async generator of structured events.
The MCP server speaks JSON-RPC 2.0 over line-delimited stdio. An MCP client must initialize once per connection, send initialized, then call methods. Requests and notifications use the exact schemas in the Codex MCP interface.
Do not parse human-readable CLI output when the SDK or MCP interface provides structured data.
